'Chandramukhi' brings Rajni back to Telugu cinema

Hyderabad, May 6 (IANS) Superstar Rajnikanth has staged a comeback not only in Tamil cinema but on the Telugu screen too. His "Chandramukhi" tops this fortnight's list.

1. "Chandramukhi": After the disaster "Baba", Rajnikanth has come out with a super hit. Besides Rajni's charisma, the novelty of the plot has also helped the film's success. Better publicity can improve its prospects further.

2. "Subhas Chandra Bose": Venkatesh's maiden patriotic film has had a great opening, but it is beginning to prove a letdown. The contrived plot and the pedestrian narration of K. Raghavendra Rao are putting audiences off.

3. "Bunny": After a good opening, Allu Arjun's anger-driven film is losing its sheen at many centres. It did attract the youth initially, but an overdose of action is keeping family audiences away.

4. "Hungamma": Director S.V. Krishna Reddy's slapstick comedy lacks enough meat to carry it through. Comedians Venu Madhav and Ali, in the lead roles, try to salvage the moronic plot but Reddy's dream of recreating the magic of "Yamaleela" may not come true.

5. "Mr Errababu": The lean trot of young actor Sivaji continues since his new release is just a rehash of flop "Bhadradri Ramudu" with a few minor changes. Despite the lavish London sequence, the love story has little appeal. New releases will push the film down further.
