Chennai, Oct 25 (IANS) Southern filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, known for Telugu films such as "Happy Days" and "Leader", says that the Hindi version of "Happy Days" will go on the floors next year.

"I've been contemplating on the idea for quite some time now. I'll soon start working on my next Telugu project, which will be followed by 'Happy Days' in Hindi," Sekhar told IANS and added that contrary to the reports it has not been shelved.

"Happy Days", released in 2007, is a quintessential college story that explores the lives of eight friends and their four years in an engineering college.

Sekhar organised a talent hunt and found the lead cast for the Telugu movie and he wants to rope in newcomers for its Hindi version.

"I'll cast my lead through a talent hunt if time permits. I want to cast newcomers because it will suit the context of the film," Kammula added.

Sekhar said he's also in discussion with few producers in Bollywood such as Shekhar Kapur, who initially showed interest, but confirms nothing is finalised.
