Magnum opus in the offing
Aug 24, 2011 HPAfter Hollywood and Bollywood, now it's the turn of Tollywood to roll the dice. Veteran actor and MP, Mohan Babu is all set to don the role of demon king in the upcoming film, Raavan, to be helmed by ace director K. Raghavendra Rao.
The film will shot on a whopping 50-crore budget. The produce of the film Vishnu Babu, believes this is no time to compromise. Only with great budget can we make this film appear as exorbitant as possible.
To give their film a definite edge, the production house is set to rope in B-town stars like Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi and Southern superstars like Vikram and Surya to play the roles of Lord Rama, Lakshman and a host of other mythological characters and are set to clinch the deals soon.
Academy award winning team WETA, makers of King Kong are expected to be roped in to take care of
visual effects for the film.
'Besides, B-town and K-town stars, the multi-starrer will also boast a couple of Telugu stars — no stone is being left unturned to make it a magnum opus,' says a source close to the production house.
However, producer Vishnu Babu sounds cautious and diplomatic, 'Talks are on but nothing is finalized
yet'. If everything falls into place, it could go down as the biggest multi-starrer ever, which has
superstars of different languages rubbing shoulders on screen; raising the bar of Telugu cinema, in terms of casting and crew.
