Mahesh's 'Pokiri' may break 'Okadu' record

Hyderabad, May 19 (IANS) After "Athadu", Mahesh delivers another resounding hit with "Pokiri", which tops the fortnight's list of Telugu films.

The top five Telugu films are:

1. "Pokiri": Mahesh's confidence in director Puri Jaganath stands vindicated. It is to be seen if the film's run surpasses Mahesh's record-breaking hit "Okkadu".

2. "Bangaram": The film opened to a terrific response and is doing fairly well, even if Pavan Kalyan fans are disappointed with the hackneyed fare.

3. "Veerabhadra": Yet again, Balakrishna registers a good opening for his film, but it may not sustain its showing with the contrived storyline and young director Ravi Kumar's disjointed screenplay.

4. "Mayajalam": Director S.V. Krishna Reddy's comic caper can break his jinx.

5. "Evandoi Srivaru": The film is included in this list not for its collection record, but for the good comedy from director Sathibabu, which is going unnoticed. The interesting plot and hilarious narration have failed to turn it into a huge hit.
