Money is my second priority: Charmme Kaur

Actor Charmme Kaur was noticed nationwide in Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap and this Tollywood siren is now looking at B-Town seriously. But, in her busy schedule, Sandalwood director Indrajit Lankesh has managed to charm the actor to be part of his latest directorial venture, Dev: Son of Muddegowda.

'I've acted in over 50 films in my 10 years in the industry, but not once have I had a role that was this good. This is a completely unique character. Also, I get to work with some of the best names in the Kannada industry. I know Indrajit has given hits like Mona Lisa and Aishwarya. I know Diganth is a hot favourite. So it's all worked out well,' says Charmme, who reveals that Indrajit did have to pursue her for a month to get her dates.

Charmme, who's currently not taking on too many south projects because of her Bollywood ambitions, says, 'I will always take up exciting roles like this one from Telugu and other South Indian industries. After all, I am where I am today because of the films I have done in the south.'

She maintains that money isn't her priority and she hasn't really hiked her remuneration after her B-Town release. 'Would I do a Kannada film if I charged too much? Money is my second priority. My first priority is cinema. Acting and films are my passion. They will always rank above money,' she says, adding quickly, 'That doesn't mean I'd work for charity either. I have learnt to balance the priorities.'

Charmme is currently shooting for Zilla Ghaziabad with Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi and Arshad Warsi and also has a Telugu film up for release.
