Bangalore, July 14 (IANS) Mahesh Babu's record-breaking hit "Polkiri" sustains its run on the appeal of slick action and well-mounted song sequences.

The top five Telugu films are:

1. "Pokiri" - Overwhelmed by the tremendous response to the film, even reclusive actor Mahesh is now interacting with the media. Director Puri Jagannath moves back into the reckoning.

2. "Vikramarkudu" - Despite many loopholes, Ravi Teja's carefree performance seems to have impressed the audience. To counter harsh reviews, S.S. Rajamouli even announced that he made the film to please the masses and not a few critics.

3. "Pandem Kodi" - The film's big success has broken the jinx that Tamil films dubbed in Telugu don't work at the box office. Vishal and Meera's love track and an action-packed second half made the remake of Tamil hit "Sandai Kozhi" a winner.

4. "Nandanavanam 120 Kms" - Director Neelakanta's suspense thriller has opened to a good response. New face Ajay and Kota impress in the psycho-drama.

5. "Amrithavarshini" - Market leader Gemini TV, which released the Telugu version of Kannada hit "Amruthadhare", unleashed a publicity blitz to ensure a decent opening. Amitabh Bachchan's special appearance is one of the USPs of the movie.
