Jul 15, 2007 NR

Popular hero Suman who enthralled the audiences with his roles as Lord Venkateswara in 'Annamayya' and Bhadrachala Rama in 'Sri Ramadasu' is now donning the role of 'Anantacharya', a staunch devotee of Lord Venkateswara.

The film 'Anantacharya' with a tagline, Saranam Sri Venkatesa Charanam, is being directed by Allani Sridhar and produced by K Rajasekhar in association with FMC on the banner of Dharmapatha Creations. The shooting was formally launched at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on July 9. Nara Rammurthy Naidu gave the clap for the muhurat shot picturised on Suman, Ranganath and Gautham. Speaking on the occasion, Producer Rajasekhar says, 'Bhakta Anantacharya is a staunch devotee of Lord Venkateswara and he used to decorate the lord with flowers, despite several obstacles in reaching the temple. When there was no movement of any human being on the Tirumala Hills, it was Anantacharya who alone dug a tank on Tirumala and earned the title of 'Magadheerudu' from Srimad Ramanujacharyulu. His life history is very interesting and worth listening.

We are very happy at giving a celluloid shape to his history. Presently our unit is producing 'Buddha'. We will launch the regular shooting of the movie from July 23. The film would be in three languages Telugu, Tamil and Hindi and would be shot in Hyderabad, Tirupati and Madurai and its surroundings. We will wrap up the shoot by September.' Director Allani Sridhar says, 'There will be a special song on the Vaishnavite devotees called Alwars and the Shivaite devotees called Nayanars. The film will not only have the life history of Anantacharya but also contain some parts of Jagadguru Adishankaracharya and Sriramanujacharyulu.' Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Gauthamraju, Rajasekhar Kandukuri, Ushasri are in the cast. Story is by Sadguru K Sivanandamurthy, music is by Sashi Preetam, camera is by Madhu Mahankali and editing is by K Ravindrababu
