Telugu cinema gets Preity back

Hyderabad, Aug 17 (IANS): The lissome Bollywood actress Preity Jinghania is returning to Telugu cinema in an untitled comedy opposite popular actor Rajendra Prasad.

"It an interesting role," said the lanky actress who debuted in the Telugu film "Thammudu", as a timid girl who won her love. In "Narasimha Naidu" she goes against her parent's wishes to marry a widower. Both were huge hits and the second film set new records.

Instead of cashing in on these successes, Preity moved to Hindi films. However, she could not make a big impact in Bollywood.

"I hope my second innings will be more fruitful," she said.

"I am looking forward to some good offers", said the soft-spoken Preity.

In her forthcoming Telugu film, Preity has to match the comic timing of veteran comedian Rajendra Prasad, but Preity says she is confident.

Among Telugu heroines, Boomika holds the current numero uno slot with Trisha a close second. Whether Preity can give them a fight will depend on how well she plans her career, film industry sources said.

It will also now depend on whether Preity can make them laugh.
