Telugu star Sumanth engaged

Hyderabad, June 10 (IANS): The year is turning out to be a great one for young Telugu actor Sumanth.

After scoring his first hit at the fag end of last year with "Satyam", he is now engaged to actress Kirti Reddy of "Tholi Prema" fame.

The betrothal was at Kirti's uncle's house with a small gathering of family members from both sides. It seems that the match was finalised by the elders who have been family friends for over two decades.

Kirti Reddy, who debuted in "Tholi Prema", did a few other Telugu films. But failing to make a mark, she drifted towards Tamil and Hindi films,

though without much success.

Similarly, Sumanth, nephew of Nagarjuna, had to struggle for over five years after debuting in "Prema Katha" before he delivered a big hit.

The marriage will be held in August. By agreeing to marry an actress the youngster is following in the footsteps of his uncle who married actress

Amala after separating from his first wife.
