Bifurcation of the state, Andhra Pradesh, seems to have affected Tollywood the most. Many films have been postponed including big budget films like Pawan Kalyan’s Atharintiki Dharedhi and Ram Charan’s Yevadu.

The latest movie to face trouble due to the political crisis is NTR’s Ramayya Vastavayya. Osmania University JAC has issued a statement that Jr NTR’s films should not be allowed to release in Telangana.

Jr NTR’s father, Nandamuri Harikrishna, resigned the Rajya Sabha MP post to protest against the bifurcation of the state and his was the first resignation to be accepted on this issue. NTR’s Ramayya Vasthavayya is in the final stages of completion.

Ramayya Vastavayya has Shruthi Hassan and Samantha in the lead roles and is being directed by ‘Gabbar Singh’ fame Harish Shankar. It is being produced by Dil Raju, who had earlier produced the block buster ‘Brindavanam’ with NTR.
