Onam Releases

Yet another Onam season has arrived. A number of super star films are releasing during this year’s Onam providing greater entertainment for the movie buffs.

The movies of Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Indrajith, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Kunchacko Boban reach theaters this week. ‘Utopiayile Rajavu’, ‘Loham’, ‘Double Barrel’, ‘Kunjiramayanam’, and ‘Jamnapyari’ are the big releases.

A quick look on this year’s Onam releases:

Loham

Mohanlal-Ranjith team’s ‘Loham’ is already in the theaters. This is the first movie released for this Onam. ‘Loham’ is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas.

‘Loham: The Yellow Metal’ written by Ranjith is a thriller which revolves around the issue of gold smuggling in Kerala.

Andrea Jeremiah is the heroine. ‘Loham’ also features Ajmal Amir, Renji Panicker, Mythili, Joju George, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Irshad, Abu Salim, and Muthumani.

The film met with mixed reviews from the critics and the public.

Utopiayile Rajavu

Mammootty-starrer Kamal movie ‘Utopiayile Rajavu’ reaches the cinemas on August 27th. The film is a satirical comedy written by P S Rafeeq.

Jewel Mary is the heroine. The cast also includes Nandu, Sunil Sugatha, K P A C Lalitha, Janardhanan, Indrans, Jayaprakash, Jayaraj Warrier, Joy Mathew, Saju Navodaya, Sasi Kallinga, S P Sreekumar, Sudheer Karamana, T G Ravi, Tiny Tom, Sethulakshmi, and Sreekala.

Double Barrel

‘Double Barrel’ aka Iratta Kuzhal’ hits theaters on August 27th. The movie directed by Lijo Jose Pellisserry is a comedy thriller starring Prithviraj and Indrajith in the lead roles.

The cast also includes Arya, Asif Ali, Sunny Wayn, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Chemban Vinod, Manu, Anil Murali, Sabu Tharikida, Vijay Babu, Sajid, Swathi Reddy, Isha Sharvani, Pearle, and Rachana Narayanankkutty.

'Double Barrel' is produced under the banner of August Cinemas (Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shaji Nadesan and Santhosh Sivan) and Amen Movie Monastery (Lijo Jose Pellisserry).

Following the release in Malayalam, the movie will be released in Tamil too.

Double Barrel

Jamnapyari

‘Jamnapyari’ will be released on Thursday, 27th of August. The movie is directed by Thomas Sebastian and scripted by P R Arun.

Kunchacko Boban and New face Gayathri Suresh do the lead roles in the film. Murali Gopi, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Joy Mathew, Chemban Vinod, Neeraj Madhav, Maniyanpilla Raju, Renji Panicker, Mithun Ramesh, Sudheer Karamana, and Muthumani lend support.

Aneesh Lal is the cinematographer. The lines by Santhosh Varma and Harinarayanan are composed by Gopi Sunder. 'Jamnapyari' is produced by Jaison Elamgulam in the banner of R J Creations.

Kunjiramayanam

‘Kunjiramayanam’ will be in the cinemas from August 28th.

Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, Mamukkoya, Seema G Nair, Hareesh, Deepak Parambol, Bijukuttan, Srinda, Sneha Unnikrishnan, and Arya are the actors in the movie.

‘Kunjiramayanam’ is produced by Suvin K Varkey under the banner of A Little Big Films Production in association with E 4 Entertainment.
