One more biopic for Priyanka Chopra

For all those Priyanka Chopra fans who have been complaining that she has been missing from Bollywood for too long, here’s some fantastic news, the lady is back and is all set to once again proclaim her throne in B-Town.

It was earlier reported that the Quantico star will be doing a suspense thriller with the Pink director — Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Then came the news that PeeCee would also do a film with her favorite filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where she would unite with Abhishek Bachchan after 9 years for a biopic on famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi. It is reported that the ‘Baywatch’ actress will essay the role of a writer and poet Amrita Pritam, who was romantically linked with Ludhianvi.

And now we hear that Priyanka Chopra will also be doing another biopic, a film on India’s first woman to go to space — Kalpana Chawla.

A daily newspaper in Mumbai claimed that Priyanka’s team has confirmed that she will play Kalpana in the biopic and added that the team has been involved in the “legwork of the film for past one year”. “The film will be mounted on an international scale. A new production company, Getway, is likely to produce the biopic,” it quoted a source as saying.

Kalpana Chawla was the first Indian woman to enter space in 1997, as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator. In 2003, Chawla was one of the seven crew members who died in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Now, we can’t wait to watch the actress get into the skin of this character. PeeCee we are excited, already!
