Parvathy's character in ‘Thangalaan' revealed

The character name of actress Parvathy Thiruvothu in the historical action film ‘Thangalaan’ has been revealed. The makers of the film released a poster from the film on April 7, marking Parvathy’s 36th birthday.

The actress will play the role of Gangamma in the film. The poster shows her character of Gangamma standing against the burning fire in a field. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie also stars Chiyaan Vikram, Malavika Mohanan and Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone et al.

Sharing the poster on X, the makers wrote: "An embodiment of strength, grace, and resilience. Wishing our versatile #Gangamma, @parvatweets a dazzling birthday. #HBDParvathyThiruvothu #Thangalaan.”

The film is set in 1880 when the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka and the gold mining was at its peak. It shows the bravery and war the people of KGF fought against the British and how they protected the Kolar Gold Fields.

Produced by Studio Green, ‘Thangalaan’ is scheduled for worldwide release on April 12 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The movie has music by G V Prakash Kumar and cinematography by A Kishor Kumar. Selva RK is in charge of editing. Arivu, KU. Umadevi and Mounan Yathrigan have penned the lyrics.
