Politician M M Mani turns actor

According to reports, CPM leader M M Mani, called affectionately as Maniashan by the natives of Idukki, is making his debut in the film industry. He gets a role in the movie ‘Iru Vazhi Piriyunna Idam’.

‘Iru Vazhi Piriyunna Idam’ is directed by Biju C Kannan and casts Kalabhavan Mani in the lead role. M M Mani will play the role of a man who is jailed for a crime committed by someone else. Anoop Chandran and Sreekumar also do prominent roles in this movie.

Many politicians have earlier acted in movies. Rajmohan Unnithan, CPM leader Suresh Kurup, Kerala Government Chief Whip P C George, T N Prathapan, and Pannyan Raveendran had faced camera.
