Powerstar Srinivasan arrested

The Economics Offences Wing of the Delhi police arrested Powerstar Srinivasan yesterday, the 7th March, on charges of duping a New Delhi-based businessman of Rs 10 crore by promising to get him a Rs 1,000-crore loan. Powerstar Srinivasan rose to popularity through his film Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaya.

A team from Delhi EOW rushed to Chennai and nabbed Srinivasan from his house in Anna Nagar on Tuesday morning. He was produced before the chief metropolitan magistrate court in Egmore to obtain a transit warrant, to take him to Delhi.

Srinivasan is also wanted by the Bengaluru police as he has allegedly cheated businessman Masroor Alam and his brother Sajjad Wahab. It has to be noted that Srinivasan was earlier also arrested and was in jail for three months.
