While Priyanka Chopra is a fab actress, she has also proved to be a fantastic producer. After making her debut as a producer in Bhojpuri cinema with ‘Bam Bam Bol Raha Kashi,’ she followed it up with Marathi film ‘Ventilator,’ which recently bagged multiple National Awards.

Then she even dabbled in Punjabi cinema with ‘Sarvann,’ her Sikkimese film ‘Pahuna’ and Goan film ‘Little JoeHer’ are about to release and now the lady is all set to produce a Bengali-Marathi film, based on literary genius Rabindranath Tagore’s love life.

Reportedly, titled ‘Nalini,’ the period-romance will recreate Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s real life romance and will follow the life of 17-year-old Tagore, who fell in love with 20-year-old Annapurna.

“It was a platonic love story and the film will narrate it from the point of view of a young student, who visits modern-day Santiniketan and sees a picture of Annapurna captioned ‘Nalini’,” said National Award winning director Ujjwal Chatterjee, whose wife Sagarika has written the film.

Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra further added, “Priyanka wants good stories to reach audiences. ‘Nalini’ has great potential and is an entertaining subject. We’re happy to be associated with it.”

Casting for the film is in progress and the film is expected to go on the floors by October.
