Producer P .V. Gangadharan passes away

Noted film producer and politician P .V. Gangadharan passed away at a private hospital in Kozhikode on Friday. He was 80. PVG, as he was popularly known, had been ailing for the past few days and suffered a cardiac arrest this morning.


He was a full time director of the Mathrubhumi media house, one of the pioneering media organisations in Kerala. PVG has produced a number of films under his home banner Grihalekshmi Film Productions including national award-winning 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’.


He made his production debut in 1977 with the film ‘Sujatha’. His other films as a producer include ‘Manasa Vacha Karmana’, ‘Angadi’, ‘Ahimsa’, ‘Chiriyo Chiri’, ‘Kattathe Kilikkoodu’, ‘Vaartha’, ‘Adwaitham’, ‘Ekalavyan’, ‘Notebook’, ‘Thooval Kottaram’,‘Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal’ and ‘Achuvinte Amma’ etc. PVG produced his last film ‘Janaki Jaane’ (2023) in association with S Cube, the production company owned by his daughters Shenuga, Shegna and Sherga.


He is survived by wife PV Sherin. PVG’s funeral will take place on Saturday at 6 pm at his house at Azhchavattom in Kozhikode. Click the Movie button below for more info:
