Raghavan Master is no more
Oct 19, 2013 SVVeteran music director K Raghavan passed away in a hospital in Thalassery. Popularly known as Raghavan Master, he was credited with giving a local flavour to Malayalam cinema songs. He was 99 and was admitted to the co-operative hospital for treatment.
Raghavan’s first break came when he joined Ramu Karyat and P Bhaskaran in Neelakkuyil. He also sang a song in the film. He had been an active presence in the Malayalam movie industry for the past five decades and has done more than 400 films. Some of his best works were for films like Nirmalyam, Unniyarcha, Ramanan and Kallichellamma.
Together with lyricist P Bhaskaran, Raghavan had given several hit songs in movies.
He was given Padma Shree and Kerala Government's highest film honour J C Daniel award for his contributions to cinema.
