Rajinikanth takes a dig at Kamal Haasan

The 1st of October is an important day in Kollywood, as it is the birthday of one of the doyens of Tamil cinema, Sivaji Ganesan. A government function was held to inaugurate the Sivaji Ganesan memorial – Mani Mandapam, honouring the icon of Tamil cinema which was attended by Sivaji Ganesan’s family members, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and many celebs from Tamil film industry.

Speaking at the event, Rajinikanth said, “If you have to succeed in politics, merely name, fame, and money are not enough. It is something else that is needed. There is something bigger than that which transforms an actor into a politician. May be Kamal Haasan knows what it is. If I had asked him two months ago, perhaps he would have told me. Now, when I ask him, he says ‘come with me, and I’ll tell you’”.

Kamal Haasan, too, had his share of fun, but at the expense of the AIADMK, when he took a dig at the government for the delay in inaugurating Ganesan’s memorial.
