Rajinikanth's 2.0 begins motion capture work

It was recently announced that Rajinikanth’s 2.0 would be ready for release only in January 2018 and the date has been postponed from Diwali 2017 to Republic Day 2018. The reason stated for the postponement was the delay caused by the VFX work.


The latest update from the team is that they have started work on the motion capture sequences for the film. The works are reportedly going on at the Sawmill Studio located in Vancouver, Canada.


It is said that stunt professionals will be handling the fights and other demanding sequences while Rajinikanth’s facial expressions and body language will be captured in studio and superimposed on the scenes. It has also been reported that the film will be released in the 3D IMAX format. Editor Anthony is said to have started work on the film’s rough edit. The post-production work is said to be simultaneously going on.
