Rajinikanth's stance on the current by-election in Chennai

Mar 23, 2017 JB

Post the demise of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s demise, her RK Nagar constituency was left with no MLA, as she had contested and won from this place in Chennai. From the BJP, actor/musician/director Gangai Amaran was the chosen one to contest in this price constituency and he had recently put up a photo of him hugging the Superstar Rajinikanth which kind of suggested the support for him from the Kabali hero.

Today, on the 23rd March, Rajinikanth through his official Twitter handle had stated, “My support is for no one in the coming elections''. This had put an end to the speculation about the support of the actor towards a political party.

This tweet was met with a mixed response as one section felt it was the wisest move, others felt that it is time the superstar should express his solidarity with some political party.
