Rakul Preet Singh to reprise Nayanthara's role

Thani Oruvan directed by Mohan Raja featuring Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara and Arvind Swami became the highest grosser of 2015 and the film is being remade in many languages. As of now, the details about its Telugu version are getting firmed up.

Ram Charan is roped in to play the lead in the untitled Telugu version, which is to be helmed by director Surender Reddy. After various speculations on who the heroine might be, it is reported that Rakul Preet Singh has been brought on board.

Confirming the news, the actress says, "I'm doing the film, although am yet to officially sign on the dotted line. The shooting will commence soon, and I will join the crew by March or April. Nayan is a classy actress. I will be very happy if I can match her in portraying the mature and bold character that she pulled off in the Tamil version."
