Ram Gopal Varma says Sridevi has hurt him

Film maker Ram Gopal Varma has made a Telugu film which was originally titled Savitri but he later changed to Sridevi. The poster of the film about a teenager’s crush on an older woman had already caused quite a stir among women’s groups.

Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor tried reaching Ram Gopal Varma for an explanation but in vain. According to Boney Kapoor, the title could be misconstrued and people might mistake the film to be about the actress Sridevi and therefore had decided to slap on the ‘cease and desist’ notice on RGV prohibiting him from using Sridevi’s name in the title of the film.

But RGV appears very adamant and says that he would not change the title of the film as it has been authorized by the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber. He adds, “I am deeply hurt by Sridevi’s actions as I have always admired and respected her.”
