Revealed! Akshay Kumar replaced Sonakshi Sinha in this film…

Not many know but, Akshay Kumar was never the first choice for this satirical drama. As a matter of fact, no other heroes were approached for the film and Sonakshi Sinha was the first choice of the makers for the movie.

The movie is inspired by 19-year-old Priyanka Bharti, who decided to walk out on her in-laws because they did not have a toilet. Hence originally the movie was written from a female point of view and Sonakshi Sinha was approached for the lead role.

However, due to clashing of dates Sonakshi apparently had to decline the role. Soon after the makers modified the script with a male protagonist and that is how Akshay came on board.

Now Akshay will be seen playing the protagonist in the movie who starts a movement in his village to build toilets and stands up for women safety after his wife walks out on him.

Bhumi Pednekar portrays the wife in the film and Anupam Kher will also be seen in a prominent role. The movie is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and it is scheduled to release on August 11.
