Richard Gere and Padma Lakshmi call off relationship amicably

Actor Richard Gere and TV host Padma Lakshmi have reportedly called off their six-month-old relationship.

The duo have parted ways mutually due to their work commitments.

Lakshmi, the host of TV show "Top Chef", broke the news about being single in a television interview after she was asked about her love life.

"The couple decided they would be better as friends as both had been busy with their work," said a source.

Gere and Lakshmi began dating in April this year. However, the estranged couple did not make many public appearances together.
