After ordering two minor cuts in Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Haseena Parkar’, it is learnt that Central Board Of Film Certification has shocked the makers of Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film ‘Bhoomi’ by demanding 13 cuts in the film.

Directed by Omung Kumar, Bhoomi is a story of a father’s revenge against his daughter’s rapists and the rape sequences are extremely crucial to the film. However, allegedly CBFC has asked to remove some of these important scenes.

A source close to the development said to a daily, “The makers argued that the rape sequence is very important to the film. They even cited the example of the recent Sridevi starrer ‘MOM’ where a rape was at the core of the plot. But the argument did not hold water as in ‘MOM’, no rape was shown. In fact, producer Kapoor had removed all the graphic suggestions of sexual violation to make the product more palatable to a family audience.”

It’s learnt that the makers have reluctantly agreed to the cut.

‘Bhoomi’ stars Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles and is all set to hit the screens on September 22.
