Dealing with the censor board just few months ago was akin to a nightmare for all filmmakers. However, with the recent announcement of the new board members, filmmakers are finally heaving a sigh of relief, the recent one among them is ‘Haseena Parkar’ director – Apoorva Lakhia.

Apoorva Lakhia was a very happy man after the CBFC gave a 'UA' certificate to his upcoming movie ‘Haseena Parker’. The CBFC working under its new chairperson Prasoon Joshi has demanded two minor cuts and has given the film a UA certificate.

Talking about the same the director said, "They requested one word ‘charas’ to be muted and one cut where a woman is shown being assaulted during the riots. That’s it. I happily went with these cuts. No argument. The cuts made sense. I must say the censor experience was quick and pleasant. We were in at 6 pm and out in a few hours. We got a ‘U/A’ with hardly any cuts.”

‘Haseena Parker’ tells the story of 'aapa' (Haseena Parker) who was Dawood Ibrahim's sister and became am underworld mafia queen after she was unjustly tried and persecuted.

Audience is eagerly waiting to see Shraddha Kapoor in this new and versatile role. "I could only give her a basic idea of what I wanted and I think she had done a great job. It (the film) is a bigger risk for her than it's for me. She plays these chocolaty lovable heroines, where she sings songs. In real life too she is a chirpy person. But Haseena doesn't have any of these things. Also, everyone was surprised when I approached her for this role,” said Apoorva Lakhia.

The film will release on 22nd September.
