New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS) The third edition of the much-awaited Storm Music Festival will kickstart in Karnataka Jan 31. Composer Shankar Mahadevan, the brand ambassador of the first such camp-out music festival, says it serves as a wonderful platform for music lovers who want to experience something new.

"From a musician's point of view, it's a great space, a congenial atmosphere, fresh sounds and fresh air. There are lots of good collaborations that take the line-up to a different level," Mahadevan told IANS.

"Apart from the destination element and music selection - what makes Storm very different is an equally wonderful concept of late night jams, where music lovers get to compare notes and interact with performing musicians. I'm really looking forward to the Storm experience," he added.

Storm 2014 promises to be bigger and better by adding another day, another stage and brand new venue unlike Coorg in the past.

The three-day fest will be held at Stormfields, Gonighattapura village, Sarjapura Hobli, Karnataka. It will feature five stages and over 45 artistes from across the world, according to a statement.

Over 12 bands, 16 Indian disc jockeys and five international names performed in front of an audience of 5, 000 people at the festival venue last year.

This year, one will get the chance to see never before collaborations on the stage. From Mahadevan meets Shankar Tucker, Leslie Lewis featuring GenX Thermal and a Quarter featuring Ravi Kullor to Raghu Dixit featuring a surprise folk collaboration - there is something for everyone.

This year, the fest will also pave the path for singing talent from across the world and give them a platform to showcase their skills with the biggest musicians with Voice of Storm 2014, a talent accreditation program by Storm Festival in association with Shankar Mahadevan Academy.
