Support for Jallikattu increases

Jallikattu the traditional sport of Tamil Nadu where young men tame the raging bulls has been under the scanner for a long time. The Supreme Court of India had banned the sport and PETA and animal lovers are also against this. But there are quite a lot who support this sport and film artists have been expressing their stance through social media.

Dhanush had tweeted, “#Jallikattu is an integral element of the voice and identity of Tamilians. #ISupportJallikattu #WeNeedJallikattu #TamilCulture”. Sivakarthikeyan had also tweeted in Tami saying that Jallikattu is a part of Tamil culture and tradition and that he is one among many Tamils who wish to see it get revived.

It can be recalled that music composer/actor GV Prakash is bringing out a song in support of the valorous sport with rapper/singer Arunraja Kamaraj which he is planning to release on the Pongal day. Meanwhile there are also talks that the ban is lifted by the government.
