Suraj Venjarammoodu won the National Award for the Best Actor

Suraj Venjarammoodu has won the National Film Award for the Best Actor for his outstanding performance in the movie ‘Perariyathavar’ directed by Dr Biju. He shared the award along with Rajkumar Yadav for Rajkumar’s performance in the movie’ Shahid’.

Suraj said that he is very happy to win the award and he extended his heartfelt thanks to director Dr Biju, the Almighty and his friends. He dedicated the award to Malayalam language and Malayalam cinema. He added that he is so thankful to his parents for their prayers and wishes.

‘Perariyathavar’ depicts the agonies of the marginalized section of the society. The movie was also awarded the Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation.
