Tamil film chamber of commerce formed

While on one hand, Vishal, as the President of Producer Council is stating that there would be strike of the film industry if the state and central government are not yielding to their demands, an association of sorts is formed on the other hand comprising of distributors, producers and theatre owners.

This association called the Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce has Producers, Theater Owners and distributors and has elected Abirami Ramanathan as their President unanimously. Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce is powerful than Tamil Film Producers Council as the latter only has producers whereas the former is an association for the entire trade.

Interestingly, Chamber of Commerce has senior producers, theater owners and distributors, who are said to be unhappy with TFPC’s President Vishal and his recent decision to shut down the entire industry to curb piracy and hike ticket price. Producers Kalaipuli Thanu, Anbu Chezhian, distributors Tiruppur Subramanian, Arul Pathi and Theaters Owners Association President Paneerselvam have openly supported Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce.
