Aascar buys Vishwaroopam

Aascar Films Ravichandran has bought the distribution rights of Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Vishwaroopam for the Chennai and NSC area that comprises of North Arcot, South Arcot and Chengalpet. Meantime, it is also reported that Kamal will be acting in Aascar’s mega project, which will be a multi-lingual.

Vishwaroopam is now looking for a release of minimum 425 theatres. It has to be recalled that Red Giant Movies Udhayanidhi Stalin has taken the distribution of the film for the Salem area.

Earlier Kamal was planning to release the film through DTH first. But the same received stiff resistance from the theatre owners and distributors. After several meetings, a truce has been arrived recently and Kamal has agreed for a theatre release first for the film.

The film, written, directed and acted by Kamal Haasan will release on Jan 25 in Tamil and Telugu.
