Bombay Jayashri nominated for the Oscars

Carnatic and playback singer Bombay Jayashri has been nominated for the Oscars for her lullaby song in the film Life of Pi. The fantasy film directed by Ang Lee has been nominated under 11 categories for the Oscars. The music for the song is by Michael Dyanna.


Jayashri has been straddling the two worlds of Carnatic and film music and has several feathers in her cap. She has sung hit songs for films and her Vaseegara remains to be one of the most popular songs.


Life of Pi is based on the adapted screenplay by David Magee.
