Chennai, Jan 26 (IANS) Madras High Court's Justice K. Venkatraman, along with some judicial members, watched a private screening of Kamal Haasan's banned film "Vishwaroopam" in Chennai Saturday. The court is likely present its final verdict on the movie's release in Tamil Nadu Jan 28.

The film's screening began around 1:15 p.m. in the presence of Justice K. Venkatraman, Tamil Nadu Advocate General Navneedakrishnan and Assistant Advocate General Aravind Pandian.

Chandra Haasan, sibling of Kamal Haasan and lawyer P.S Raman were also part of the screening, which took place at a private studio.

The Tamil and Telugu versions of "Vishwaroopam", which deals with the adversities of war, were scheduled to release Jan 25, but the Tamil Nadu government Wednesday imposed curbs on it following protests from Muslim groups.

Following the ban, actors such as super star Rajinikanth, Ajith Kumar, Parthepan and veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja opposed the ban against the film and wished for peaceful release of the film.

"Vishwaroopam" only released in places like Kerala and a few parts of Hyderabad Friday.

It is written, produced and directed by Haasan, who also stars in the film. It also features Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose, Shekhar Kapur and Jaideep Ahlawat in important roles.
