Kamal Haasan has announced that he is going ahead with his plan to release his Vishwaroopam in DTH. His Rajkamal Films, which is distributing the film, will premiere the film in DTH for a price. The cost has been fixed at Rs 1,000 and he aims to cater to the non-theatre going affluent people for the film’s premiere.

In a press statement he has clarified that his move to have a DTH premiere for a film, which is unprecedented hitherto, will not affect the theatre owners. As regards the criticism by theatre owners and producers, he said that it is common to have such a feedback, whenever something new is experimented.

He also rubbished the rumours that his film will hurt the sentiments of Muslims as alleged by some Muslim organisations. He said that after watching the film, Muslim friends will appreciate him. On a jovial note he added that he wanted all the Muslim friends to treat him with delicious biryani for such a film, which he would share with the needy people.
