Maryan censored

Dhanush starrer Maryan directed by Bharatbala has been censored U/A. The film has is being produced by Aascar Films. It is reported that the U/A certificate is because of the film’s theme and the violent climax.

Maryan stars Dhanush and Parvathi in the lead. The film’s music is by AR Rahman and the songs are already topping the charts. Marc Koninckx handles the camera.

The film is about the struggles for survival and is adapted from a newspaper article regarding a real-life crisis. It is loosely based on the kidnap of three Indian oil workers in Sudan.

Maryan will have a world wide release on June 27.
