Rakul Preet Singh replaces Nithya Menen

Gautham Karthik, who debuted with Kadal is all set to do the remake of the Telugu film Ala Modalaindi in Tamil. The Telugu film was directed by Nandhini Reddy and debutant Ravi Thyagarajan is remaking it in Tamil.

Nithya Menen was the heroine in the Telugu version and she was to reprise the role in Tamil. But Nithya has backed out of the film and it is said that she doesn’t want to replay the character.

Rakul Preet Singh, heroine of Puthagam has replaced Nithya. The actress is upbeat that the character is meaty and also she is acting with Gautham Karthik.
