Vairamuthu donates 11 lakhs to farmers

Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu has been conferred the 'Ilakiya Sinthanai' award for his phenomenal literary work in his recent book, 'Moondram Ulaga Por'. The novel is based on the life of poor farmers. Vairamuthu has earlier announced that he will be giving a major portion of the revenue from the sales of Moondram Ulaga Por to the Cauvery delta farmers who have been affected by lack of water and crop failure.

Recently Vaiaramuthu received the award and on the same stage he distributed 11 lakhs to 11 poor farmers, one lakh per family of those affected.
