The effort & money gone into creating Deepika's look for Padmavati will make your jaws drop

Recently, when the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padamavti’ was released, we got a glimpse of its majestic splendour. And one thing that really stood out the most throughout the trailer was Deepika Padukone’s look as Rani Padmavati. Deepika looks regal from head to toe, thanks to all the research and efforts put in to create her dream-like majestic look.

Each of Deepika’s outfit is painstakingly handcrafted by designer duo Rimple and Harpreet Narula, costing over 20 lakh each and weighs over 30 kilos.

What’s more a total of 200 craftsmen spent 600 days molding 400 kgs of gold to create Deepika’s jewelry for ‘Padmavati’. Jaw-dropping ain’t it.

And what’s really commendable is Deepika Padukone shot for over 12-14 hours at a stretch every day for over 100 days wearing the heavy costumes and jewerly without complaining even once.

Speaking about it Deepika said, “Having worked with Sanjay Sir before I was fully aware of what I was getting into before signing ‘Padmavati.’ For me, honestly, more than the physical preparation it’s the mental and emotional preparation to be able to endure the long, hard and gruelling schedules. We’ve endured some really tough days of shooting and sometimes I’m amazed at how everything just fell into place.”

Well, we can’t wait to see all this grandeur in the film this November.
