Break-ups, patch-ups, political interferences, wedding bells, arrogant remarks — Bollywood stars, as usual, dominated the headlines last month for several reasons.

We rounded up a list of the top 10 newsmakers of October 2016, who made it to the news for all the right and wrong reasons. Take a look…

Deepika Padukone

More than Deepika Padukone’s fierce action avatar in the trailer of her debut Hollywood film — xXx-The Return of Xander Cage, it was her Indian accent that kept the lady in the news.

Her bold stance to not use an exaggerated American accent and instead to proudly flaunt her Indian accent in the film, not just got the Padmavati actress loads of accolades but also loads of praiseworthy headlines too.

Ranbir Kapoor

The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor may have been getting praises galore for his performance in the film, but that is not the only reason why the young Kapoor lad grabbed the headlines last month.

First, it was Kapoor’s nastiness towards a certain website that kept him trending, which was followed by his comment on the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Apparently, while talking about his intimate scenes with Aishwarya in the film, Ranbir said in a radio interview that he felt shy, so much so that his hands used to shiver and he was hesitant to even touch her cheeks.

He then added that Aishwarya asked him to do it properly, reminding him that they were acting at the end of the day. “Tabhi maine socha, kabhi aisa mauka milega nahi, so maine bhi mauke pe chauka maar diya!” Ranbir said.

The sensational comment was enough for Ranbir to ensure his media space for days to come.

Lisa Haydon

When one of the sexiest actresses of Bollywood gets hitched; she is bound to make it to the news.

The beautiful Queen actress got hitched to her long-time boyfriend Dino Lalvani in a fairytale like beach wedding this October in Goa.

Clad in a white flowing gown with a long veil cascading behind her, Lisa gave some major bridal goals to every girl.

Karan Johar

The month of October was pretty tough for Kjo. First, it was the call for boycotts by various political parties on his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which almost jeopardized the film’s release.

Then Karan triggered another controversy when he released a two-minute video statement explaining his stance on the issue and expressed his patriotism, which again didn’t go well with many of his naysayers.

This was followed by another biggest news chunk of the month when MNS chief Raj Thackeray pronounced that he would advise his activists to not resort to violence if producer/director Karan Johar agreed to pay Rs 5 crore for army welfare, as a penance for working with Pak actor Fawad Khan.

Thackeray even said that all films which featured an actor from across the border would be applicable for this 'penalty'.

Needless to say, the ‘Koffee With Karan’ host happily made the donation.

Anurag Kashyap

The maverick director too made it to the headlines last month, but for all the wrong reasons.

While it was a sign of solidarity, when the Raman Raghav 2.0 director tweeted in support of his colleague Karan Johar’s film – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, his tweet, in which he asked PM Narendra Modi why he had not said sorry yet for his visit to Pakistan, obviously didn’t go down too well and the media went berserk flashing it all across their news channels.

That’s not all; Anurag hogged the news further when he insensitively posted a journalist’s messages on his Facebook wall without blurring her number.

Farhan Akhtar

Another film that is caught in this ‘ban-Pakistani-actors’ uproar is Raees. Produced by Farhan Akhtar’s production company, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.

Following Karan Johar’s donation to the army, which obviously was forced by MNS, the Rock On 2 actor took a bold stance and said, “There is no question of giving Rs 5 crore to the Army as they have refused to take any money which seems extorted from the producers.”

Well, Farhan’s bold statement followed by MNS cine wing president Ameya Khopkar threat, "Release nazdik aane do phir dekh lenge,” made sure that the Farhan Akhtar made it to the breaking news segment couple of times in the month of October.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

The kind of talent that this versatile actor is blessed with, he deserves to be in the news every day. However, Nawazuddin Siddiqui made it to the news last month, not for his skills but for not being able to perform instead.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was planning a return to the local stage in his hometown Budhana after 20 years, by playing the part of Maaricha, Ravan's uncle, in the Ramlila, had to pull out from the event due to certain political interference.

Apparently, Shiv Sena activists from Budhana district forced the Ramlila organizers to cancel the show. One of the reasons they gave was that Siddiqui is a Muslim and that no Muslim has ever had a role in the Ramlila.

Kangna Ranaut

Seems like the Rangoon actress just can’t get over Hrithik Roshan.

After the ugly controversy between the two, a few months ago, Kangana made it back to the news when she took a dig at the Kaabil actor again on the radio chat show - #NoFilter.

While answering a rapid fire round, she was asked who would be the best fit for the title, ‘Thank God they have famous parents or they’d be nowhere’. And guess what? She instantly replied, “Hrithik Roshan, you know it’s true!!".

The Queen does know how to rule the headlines.

Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone

Bollywood’s most favorite couple too made it to the headlines last month for their alleged break-up.

Apparently, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's relationship has been going through a bad weather and some reports suggested that the couple had called it quits.

However, recently the lovebirds were spotted entering Deepika’s building together, that too holding each other’s hand and have sparked off new rumors about being back together.

Now, that’s some piece of good news that we cherish.

Akshay Kumar

The Gold actor indeed has a heart of gold and made it to the news time and again last month for some really great reasons.

First, it was the video that the Rustom actor posted on is social networking site in which he slammed questions being raised about Indian Army’s surgical strike on terror launch pads.

Then he made it to the headlines again when he offered to help the ailing producer of his first film – Ravi Shrivastava with Kidney transplant.

And now, in a true gesture of patriotism, the benevolent star has donated Rs 9 lakh to a martyr's family, while India still tries to prove its patriotism by arguing and bans.

Akshay Kumar deserved to be in the news, don’t you think so!
