Theatres, malls shut in Tamil Nadu for election

In order to encourage more voters to cast their votes in the Lok Sabha elections being held today, the theatres and malls has been closed in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu theatre owners’ federation has decided not to screen films till 6 pm today. The shows will resume after 6 pm.

Also most of the actors have taken a break from the shooting to cast their votes. While Superstar Rajinikanth cast his vote in Stella Maris College, Kamal Haasan cancelled the shooting of his Uthama Villain to cast his vote in Alwarpet. Actor Ajith and his wife cast their votes at Thiruvanmiyur. Vijay has taken a break from the Kaththi shooting to vote and Suriya is flying down to Chennai from the sets of Anjaan to vote.
