Thiri is a realistic commercial entertainer starring Ashwin Kakamanu, Swathi Reddy, Jayaprakash, Karunakaran and AL Azhagappan in the lead. Thiri symbolizes influence. It could be either positive or negative, but influence is influence. The film dwells on the universal fact on how parents ultimately influence the path of the ward's life.

The film is drafted with a fast paced screenplay that would engage the audience. Ashwin Kakamanu plays a role which is very different from his early films. Sathuranga Vettai fame cinematographer KG Venkatesh handles the camera work and Raja Sethupathy is editing. In Vairamuthu’s lyrics SS Thaman is composing the music for the film.
