Tom Hardy to return to television with a new period adventure series
Nov 20, 2014 NRActor Tom Hardy is set to star in a new historical drama “Taboo”.
The series is set in 1813 and follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), “a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a very dangerous game.”
Cable television channel Fx network will be producing the new series.
The series hails from Ridley Scott and "World War Z" scribe Steven Knight and is the first project to come from Hardy's production company Hardy Son & Baker.
Eight episodes will go into production with a premiere date eyed for 2016.
