Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's next titled as Velvet Nagaram

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s next venture will be a female centric action thriller titled as Velvet Nagaram (Based on true incidents) with a new aspiring team. The film will be directed by Manojkumar Natrajan and produced by Makers Studios’s Arun Karthick.

The supporting cast includes Maalavika Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, Ajay, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru fame Prakash Raghavan and others. Bhagathkumar is handling cinematography, Derek Crasta of Aruvi fame is the editor and Achu Rajamani of Golisoda 2 fame will be the music composer.

Varalaxmi plays a journalist from Madurai who comes to Chennai seeking a proof for the atrocities committed to tribal people on Kodaikanal. What she encounters in Chennai forms the crux of the story. Director Manoj says, “This is a women centric film and is based on true incidents that happened a few years ago in Chennai and Kodaikanal.
