Varalaxmi Sarathkumar had launched her signature campaign, Save Sakthi, a cause that aims to add more Mahila courts at the district level for speedy delivery of justice.

On Monday, the Save Sakthi team met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and put forth their requests and went on to meet the Minister of State Law and Justice PP Chaudhary on Tuesday. Co-founder of the campaign, Dr. Deepa Muthukumar said, “We first met our CM who listened to our requirements. He said, the government will look into the issue and will work for the functioning of the dysfunctional Mahila courts across the state. We also spoke to him about the delayed justice system. There should be an efficient delivery system which would reinforce the fear among perpetrators”.

Talking about the meeting with the Ministry of State Law and Justice PP Chaudhary, she said, “He immediately supported our cause and has announced his decision to send a letter to the Chief Ministers across India to make Mahila courts function efficiently in every district. This is a very encouraging step and we look forward to it as it will help the campaign to succeed in a National level.”
