'Happy Wedding' is just a harmless comic caper that could pass off as transitory entertainment. There is hardly anything in it that you would carry back home with you, and is likely to be forgotten the moment you step out of the cinema halls.

There is no denying the good intentions that 'James and Alice' has in mind, but regrettably they get lost in the meandering pathways that the narrative wanders along. Trite and a bit flimsy as a scruffily written Valentine's Day card, 'James and Alice' might be badly in need of a miracle to work wonders at the theatres.

In Ranjith's 'Leela', the protagonist Kuttiyapan steers his jeep across a multi-tentacled wasteland that ravenously gorges on the very lives that thrive on it. Hope has almost become extinct, souls have long fled the flesh caverns that they dwelled in and angels lie dangling from electric lines. A scalding indictment of the essential barbarity of humankind that has ingeniously been concealed under sly smiles, 'Leela' is as raw as the bleeding bruises that it vehemently rips open.
