Vetri Maaran's Visaranai gets accolade in Venice

Vetri Maaran’s directorial Visaranai starring Attakathi Dinesh, Samuthirakani and others was recently screened at the Venice International Film Festival. The film, after being well-received at the festival has now bagged an award too at the festival.



Amnesty International Italia in collaboration with the Venice Film Festival has honored the film with the Cinema for Human Rights award.



Talking about the same, Vetri Maaran says, "This is a collaborative award given by Amnesty International Italia and the festival organizers. There are around 15 such collaborative awards, where an organization in association with the festival organizers, jointly honor films with awards. Getting the Cinema for Human Rights award from Amnesty International, which is one of the most active organizations worldwide, fighting for human rights, is an honor."
