Vicky Kaushal set to play freedom fighter

Actor Vicky Kaushal is set to play freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh in a film, which will be directed by Shoojit Sircar.

“An absolute honour to be roped in to play Shaheed Udham Singh, in his biopic to be directed by @shoojitsircar sir... Can’t wait for this journey to start next month. Produced by Ronnie Lahiri,” Vicky tweeted.

Sardar Udham Singh assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Vicky was last seen in the film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. The untitled film goes on floors in April.
