Vijay Sethupathi says he won't accept National Award

Karuppan directed by Renigunta fame Panneer Selvam is all set to hit the screens this week and in one of promotional events, Vijay Sethupathi had discussed about the film and also about the governance.


When asked if he would accept a National award, for Karuppan when it gets nominated, for its regional flavor as it is said to deal with our culture and tradition. Vijay Sethupathi remarked, "It is a very premature question at this stage when the film is yet to be released. But one thing, I can say without any doubts or second thoughts are I would not accept the National award.


My people and my state are important for me. We are being squeezed by the Central Government. I am already highly worried that our language Tamil has been removed from the train tickets.
