Vijay's statement in connection with a woman journo harassment

The internet was abuzz for the last few days after a woman journalist Dhanya Rajendran had tweeted about Vijay’s Sura in connection with the Hindi film Jab Harry Met Sejal. She had mentioned in her tweet that after she got out in the middle of Sura, she did the same thing in Shah Rukh Khan film too.

This comment of hers had sent Vijay fans into a mad rage that started abusing her and trolling her in the cheapest form of words. There were also rape threats for the journalist. Dhanya had lodged a police complaint and two people had been arrested.

After all this, finally, Vijay issued a press note which reads as follows, “In society, I respect women a lot. Everyone has the freedom to criticize anybody’s movie. In my opinion, whatever the circumstances, no one should reveal contemptuous or disgraceful comments on women. I urge everyone not to post anything in internet with the instinct that harms women."
